1.        Decide on a budget and stick to it! This does not mean a half and half, perhaps the men’s wedding rings will be less than then the woman’s, or vice versa; play with the pricing to keep both wedding rings within your budget.

2.       Shop around. Look at different jewelry stores and jewelry websites, as well as different metals such as yellow or white gold, silver, platinum, and so on.

3.       Discuss whether or not you would like ‘his and hers’ matching wedding bands. Many people are now choosing individual bands to ease the pressure of deciding together on one style.

4.      Make a list. Each  jewelry store will have many engagement rings, wedding rings, his and hers rings, and although you might think you can remember all of the information, it is a very good idea to write it down so you can be sure of the product and pricing when making comparisons later.

5.       Sit on it. Many jewelers will hold a wedding ring for 24hours, as they understand that choosing a ring is a very big decision and not one that people generally take very lightly. You can ask them to hold it while you go and check out different places.
